How safe is a BTx-treatment?

How do one’s facial features change after a BTx treatment?

What happens during a BTx treatment?
Similar to acupuncture, small needles will be placed in specific locations on your face. This allows for an exact application of the medication. You feel a small pinch – and you are done. In the following 2-5 days you probably won’t notice anything, and then a relaxation of the musculature of the brow sets in.

How long do the treatment results last?
The medication stays in the muscle (not disseminating into the whole body) until it is fully decomposed. Most patients need about 2 treatments per year. It is, however, possible at any time to completely stop the treatments. This has no negative consequences whatsoever, except that wrinkles can then gradually reappear.

When should a BTx treatment be avoided?
Although there are no known side-effects, a BTx treatment should be avoided during pregnancy. For patients who have specific rare illnesses (such as myasthenia gravis) should not be treated, as well as patients who take aminoglycosid-antibiotics (these are very seldom prescribed).

What does a treatment cost?
Initial treatment including consultation, picture analysis and treatment plan starts at 350 €. Costs may vary according to the number of treatments and the amount of medications needed.
